When the man in the black honda civic motioned me into the heavy stream of traffic ahead of him, I thought how few people are that polite. With a wave of my hand, I slipped into the lane, feeling good about my fellow man.
Isn't it funny how little it takes to restore our faith in humanity? Think aobut that next time you have a chance to do something courteous, something kind, no matter how little.
Later, I saw a truck with a huge long trailer trying to get into my lane. At first he was well ahead of me, and I knew the road merged into a single lane. When he was just ahead of me (and still trying to change lanes) I slowed down and let him in.
He didn't know he had another driver to thank for that--the guy in the little black Honda. So make that kind gesture, and when you're the recipient? Make sure you pass it along.
beautifully written!
